1. Choose an appropriate position for your home office.
As you'll be spending a lot of your time in your home office, you need to choose the right location for it. You should also consider the number of visitors you'll have and then start designing your home office accordingly. If you yourself only will be working there, you need not have a big seating arrangement, but if you'll have clients coming in and stopping by, then ample seating is a must.
2. Don't sacrifice any form for function.
Consider your workflow and first decide which features you need at your fingertips before investing in the furniture, and then look out for aesthetic pieces (which are both beautiful and functional). Also, remember that your home office furniture should match the other rooms of your home instead of being an isolated island. If your home has traditional decor, go for warm wood and soft colours.
